What is Incoloy
Incoloy is a nickel-based high-temperature alloy produced by Special Metals Corporation, known for its excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength.
Properties of Incoloy alloy:
- Corrosion resistance: Incoloy alloys show excellent corrosion resistance in various corrosive environments, especially in acidic, alkaline and saline media.
- High-temperature strength: These alloys can still maintain good mechanical properties at high temperatures and are suitable for high-temperature equipment.
- Oxidation resistance: The high content of chromium enables Incoloy alloys to quickly form a dense oxide film in a high-temperature oxidizing environment to prevent further oxidation.
- Processing performance: Incoloy alloys are easy to process and are suitable for manufacturing complex parts.
Incoloy series alloys are widely used in multiple industrial fields for their excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature performance. The following is a detailed introduction to several commonly used Incoloy grades:
- Incoloy 800
Features: Incoloy 800 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with good corrosion resistance and heat resistance, suitable for high temperature environments up to 800°C. It has a high chromium content and sufficient nickel content, so it has excellent high temperature corrosion resistance.
Application areas: Commonly used in petrochemical, chemical, heat treatment and aerospace fields to manufacture high temperature equipment such as furnace tubes, heaters, catalyst brackets, etc. - Incoloy 800H
Features: Incoloy 800H is an improved version of Incoloy 800 with better oxidation resistance, high temperature resistance and creep resistance. It significantly improves its high temperature strength and creep rupture performance by optimizing the alloy composition and heat treatment process.
Application areas: Widely used in the manufacture of steam generators in metallurgy, petrochemical and nuclear industries, and is one of the main candidate materials for heat transfer tubes of steam generators in nuclear power plants. - Incoloy 800HT
Features: Incoloy 800HT is an improvement on 800 and 800H, with better creep resistance and ultra-high temperature durability. It has extremely low carbon content and improved Ti:C ratio, stable structure, maximum resistance to sensitization and intergranular corrosion.
Application: Suitable for various heat treatment equipment in high temperature and corrosive environments, such as furnace silencers, containers, silos, brackets and burner components. - Incoloy 825
Features: Incoloy 825 is an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy with added elements such as molybdenum, copper and titanium, which has excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. It has high corrosion resistance to a variety of corrosive media, including sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and chlorides.
Application: Widely used in the oil and gas industry for the manufacture of submarine pipelines, refining equipment, acid gas field mining equipment, etc. - Incoloy 925
Features: Incoloy 925 is a high-strength, corrosion-resistant and high-temperature resistant nickel-iron-chromium alloy. Through precipitation hardening treatment, it can obtain extremely high tensile strength and yield strength, and is suitable for application environments that need to withstand high stress.
Application areas: Widely used in the oil and gas industry, chemical industry, marine engineering, aerospace and other fields, used to manufacture key equipment such as oil well equipment, pipelines, valves, reactors, heat exchangers, etc. - Incoloy 926
Features: High resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride ion stress corrosion in chloride and sulfur-containing acidic environments, good high temperature performance, high strength and good welding performance.
Application areas: petrochemical, marine engineering, nuclear energy, electric power, aerospace and other fields.
