We pay attention to every process to ensure quality, the 17-4 round steel packaging we usually adopt is to pack the stainless steel round bars with environmentally friendly plastic bags, and then put them into fumigation-free wooden boxes or wooden pallets. Customized packaging, such as OEM, can also be negotiated. We provide almost everything to meet your round bar packaging requirements. We attach great importance to packaging. The round bars are packed in wooden corrugated boxes, and the outside is wrapped with plastic packaging and bubble film.

Quality, delivery, inspection

  • Daxun also conducts several quality assurance tests. These tests include flattening test, pitting and resistance test, mechanical test, hardness test, material positive identification, expansion test, etc. All these tests ensure that the material is suitable for the required application.

CORROSION RESISTANCE:

  • Withstands corrosive attacks better than any of the standard hardenable stainless steels.
  • Comparable to Alloy 304 in most media.
  • Corrosion resistant in some chemical, petroleum, dairy, and food process industries.
  • Subject to crevice or pitting attack if exposed to stagnant sea water for any length of time.

WELDABILITY:

  • Successfully welded by most common fusion and resistance methods.
  • Should not be joined by oxyacetylene welding.
  • Generally no pre-heating required.
  • Inter-pass temperature must be limited to 248°F.
  • Better toughness is obtained in the weld after a complete heat treatment.

Elevated Temperature Use and Heat Treatment

17-4PH stainless steel provides excellent oxidation resistance up to about 1100°F. It performs reliably in service conditions between 600°F and 800°F. However, long-term exposure to high temperatures may reduce toughness, especially in precipitation-hardened conditions.

Processing – Hot Forming

For forging, heat the steel evenly to 2150-2200°F and hold for 30 minutes per inch of thickness. Optimal hot forming occurs at 650-900°F, when the material remains austenitic. After forging, re-heat treat at 1875-1925°F to prepare the steel for hardening. Finally, cool the forgings below 90°F to refine the grain structure.

Processing – Cold Forming

In its annealed (solution-treated) state, 17-4PH stainless steel is hard, which limits severe cold forming. For more demanding cold work, first treat the material to condition H1150 to help prevent cracking. Bending often requires a radius larger than 7T. After cold forming, re-aging at the standard precipitation-hardening temperature can improve stress corrosion resistance.
