Heat-treated stainless steel round bars are offered in 17-4PH, H900 temper (on request), H1025, H1150, Double H1150, and H1150M. Other heat-treated tempers can be manufactured upon request. We stock the following 400 series stainless steels: 410, 430, and 416. We also carry 303, 304, and 316/L precision and bearing quality stainless steel round bars. We usually pack our 304 stainless steel round bars in eco-friendly poly bags, then put them in fumigation-free wooden cases or on wooden pallets. The purchase order shall include quantity, PSL grade, type or category, API5L reference, diameter, finish, length and any applicable attachments or additional requirements relating to chemical composition, mechanical properties, heat treatment, additional testing, manufacturing process, surface finish, or end finish. Bars are solution bright annealed.

GENERAL PROPERTIES

CORROSION RESISTANCE:
- DAXUN 304/304L stainless steel bar is a really versatile, all-purpose stainless steel that holds up well against corrosion from the weather, lots of different chemicals (both organic and inorganic), and even food and drinks.
- It is also used in vacuum processing equipment and specialized instruments where high integrity is critical.
HEAT RESISTANCE:
- Good oxidation resistance in intermittent use to 1600°F and continuous use to 1690°F.
Continuous use of 304 round bars in the 800-1580°F range is not recommended if subsequent aqueous corrosion resistance is important.
WELDING CHARACTERISTICS:
- readily welded by a full range of conventional welding procedures except oxyacetylene.
- AWS E308L/ ER308L filler metal should be used with Prodec 304/304L steel.
MACHINABILITY:

HEAT TREATING & ANNEALING
- Daxun can heat treat some of our 400 series stainless steel bars. Heat treatment can cause stress because of the hardening process, depending on the metal’s makeup. We also use heat treating for tempering, quenching, normalizing, and solution annealing.
POSITIVE MATERIAL IDENTIFICATION (PMI)
- Sometimes, we might need to do extra material testing to be absolutely sure of what we’re working with. Daxun can do this in our own lab, or we can team up with an independent lab. Get in touch if you have specific requirements.
UT TESTING
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT) uses high-frequency sound waves to check and measure the stainless steel. This helps us find and assess any flaws and take accurate measurements.

Stainless steel round bars are available in a variety of grades. The most common grade 304 has easy weldability, good formability and corrosion resistance. Grade 316 has excellent corrosion resistance and is well suited to harsh environments such as salt water or highly industrialized areas. Like grade 304, it is also easy to weld, but it is more difficult to process. Finally, grade 303 is easier to process, drill and cut than other grades. However, it is less suitable for welding than grades 304 and 316.
